The Sanneh Institute (TSI) was founded by its Executive Director, Prof. John Azumah, and TSI is the result of his longstanding vision for establishing a West African center for the advanced study of Islam and Christianity. TSI was launched in 2020, in honor of the late Prof. Lamin Sanneh, and it is located in Accra, Ghana in proximity to the University of Ghana-Legon campus.
The vision of TSI is “Offering scholarship as a tribute to God, with the religious and non-religious other within hearing distance, for the transformation of society.” At TSI, scholarship is a religious vocation aimed at equipping religious leaders and institutions for the betterment of the wider society.
TSI serves as a research and resource base for religious leaders, scholars, academic institutions, and the wider African society for advanced inquiry and constructive conversations.
